How to Hire an Interior Designer

Do you want to hire a designer to help you with your commercial or residential project but you don't know how much to invest and how helpful the collaboration will be?
I work with clients in one of 3 ways:
1. As a project manager; planning, designing, sourcing, coordinating and communicating with vendors
2. Guiding client through space planning, designing, sourcing (purchasing)
3. As a consultant; an independent client will do most of the work and consult with me throughout the project
When calling a designer to discuss your project, you should interview the designer to see if she will work within your budget, timeframe, and can relate to your vision. Ask the designer how she would break down the project into phases, and what her plan would be to maximize your time working together. Ask her, in what way would her services benefit your project; as a manager, guide, or as a consultant. If you feel positive and understood by the end of the call, you are ready to hire your designer!
